Massimiliano Allegri's Milan lead the way in Italy heading into this weekend's fixtures
  • Inter Milan have won their last seven matches, scoring 18 goals

  • Sassuolo have claimed seven points from their last three games

  • Juventus have drawn three of their last four matches

AC Milan hit the front in the Serie A title race last week, and the Rossoneri have the chance to extend their lead when they face lowly Pisa on Friday evening, before chief rivals Napoli and Inter Milan meet on Saturday.

Napoli and Inter are one point off AC, alongside Roma, who travel to Sassuolo on Sunday. The Italian top-flight weekend concludes as Lazio welcome Juventus to the Stadio Olimpico.

AC Milan vs Pisa (Friday, 7.45pm)

Table-topping Milan should have no problem extending their lead against winless Pisa. The visitors have failed to score in six of their last seven matches and could fail to breach their illustrious hosts.

Score prediction: AC Milan 3-0 Pisa

Parma vs Como (Saturday, 2pm)

Cesc Fabregas' Como side continue to catch the eye, beating Juventus 2-0 last week, and they can double up at Parma.

The home side have failed to score in four of their last five matches.

Score prediction: Parma 0-1 Como

Udinese vs Lecce (Saturday, 2pm)

Udinese are already occupying their customary mid-table position, and should gain their first home win of the season against Lecce.

The visitors have shown improvement of late, but the hosts have found only Milan too strong on home soil this term.

Score prediction: Udinese 1-0 Lecce

Napoli vs Inter Milan (Saturday, 5pm)

This is a big early battle in the title race and champions Napoli are facing Inter at the wrong time.

Antonio Conte's hosts have lost their last two games, which includes a 6-2 Champions League hammering at PSV, while their confident visitors are on a seven-match winning run.

Score prediction: Napoli 1-2 Inter

Cremonese vs Atalanta (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Both Cremonese and Atalanta have played out four stalemates in their last five matches, and there might not be much between the draw specialists on Saturday evening.

Atalanta are the stronger side, but are clearly low on confidence.

Score prediction: Cremonese 1-1 Atalanta

Torino vs Genoa (Sunday, 11.30am)

Torino battled to a home win over Napoli last weekend and can do likewise against a blunt Genoa team.

The Maroons have their tails up, while their winless visitors have blanked in two of their last three.

Score prediction: Torino 1-0 Genoa

Verona vs Cagliari (Sunday, 2pm)

Winless Verona will view this as a big opportunity to earn an elusive home win, but Cagliari are proving difficult to beat, with their three defeats this term coming against Napoli, Inter and Bologna.

Two closely matched outfits could share the points.

Score prediction: Verona 1-1 Cagliari

Sassuolo vs Roma (Sunday, 2pm)

Roma lost at home to Inter last week and could prove vulnerable against Sassuolo, who have adjusted well to life in the top flight.

The Neroverdi are unbeaten in three, and, with Roma on a short European turnaround, could spring a surprise.

Score prediction: Sassuolo 2-1 Roma

Fiorentina vs Bologna (Sunday, 5pm)

Struggling Fiorentina are still searching for their first win, but a home clash with Bologna is unlikely to provide the tonic they need.

The visitors have won their last two Serie A matches, scoring six goals.

Score prediction: Fiorentina 1-2 Bologna

Lazio vs Juventus (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Juventus bid to respond to back-to-back losses when they head to the capital to face Lazio. The Old Lady are winless in seven, low on confidence, and could have to settle for a share of the points.

Score prediction: Lazio 1-1 Juventus.
