Inter Milan lead Serie A by three points
AC Milan are second, three points ahead of third-placed Napoli
Lecce, Pisa and Verona occupy the relegation spots going into week 22
Inter have eked out a three-point advantage on their city rivals AC Milan at the top of the Serie A standings and the Nerazzurri are up first in this weekend's fixtures in the Italian top flight.
The leaders host struggling Pisa on Friday while the Rossoneri have to wait until the final match on Sunday, when they head to the capital to take on fourth-placed Roma.
Inter Milan vs Pisa (Friday, 7.45pm)
This is a mismatch on paper — there are 18 places and 35 points between the pair — and that is how it should play out on the pitch at the San Siro.
Score Prediction: Inter Milan 3-0 Pisa
Como vs Torino (Saturday, 2pm)
Como are particularly strong at home, losing only one of 10 league outings on their own patch this term, and they should have the measure of a Torino side who have lost their last three league matches.
Score prediction: Como 2-0 Torino
Fiorentina vs Cagliari (Saturday, 5pm)
There is a renaissance happening in Florence and Fiorentina can extend their unbeaten run to five league games at home to Cagliari. That said, the visitors are of a similar calibre and it could be honours even.
Score prediction: Fiorentina 2-2 Cagliari
Lecce v Lazio (Saturday, 7.45pm)
Four straight defeats have seen Lecce drop into the bottom three and there may be little solace for them to take from the visit of Lazio, who won the reverse fixture 2-0.
Score prediction: Lecce 0-2 Lazio
Sassuolo vs Cremonese (Sunday, 11.45am)
These two are locked together in mid-table and the draw looks like a big runner. Neither are in great form and a point would not be a bad result for both as they seek to maintain breathing space to the bottom three.
Score prediction: Sassuolo 1-1 Cremonese
Atalanta vs Parma (Sunday, 2pm)
Atalanta were held to a 1-1 draw at Parma in their second match of the season but they could strike a decisive blow back at their Bergamo base.
The visitors cannot be discounted totally, though, and they may at least get on the scoresheet.
Score prediction: Atalanta 2-1 Parma
Genoa vs Bologna (Sunday, 2pm)
There is every chance that the points may be shared between these two. It is one win in nine league games for Bologna since the start of December while Genoa (one win in seven) are not faring much better.
Score prediction: Genoa 1-1 Bologna
Juventus vs Napoli (Sunday, 5pm)
Draws are hampering Napoli's title defence and they may lose further ground on the top two in Turin on Sunday.
Luciano Spalletti is getting a tune out of Juventus, who will be eager to avenge their 2-1 loss in Naples at the start of December.
Score prediction: Juventus 2-1 Napoli
Roma vs AC Milan (Sunday, 7.45pm)
Second-placed AC Milan enter the Wolves' lair on Sunday knowing that only victory will do in their pursuit of city rivals Inter.
The Rossoneri have lost only once this season, but they have drawn seven league games and another stalemate could be on the cards at the Stadio Olimpico, where Roma have won seven of their 10 Serie A outings.
Score prediction: Roma 2-2 AC Milan
Verona v Udinese (Monday, 7.45pm)
Verona's Serie A future is becoming more precarious by the week and there is little to suggest that they will get anything from the visit of Udinese, who acquitted themselves well in defeat at home to Inter last week.
Score prediction: Verona 0-1 Udinese.
