Inter Milan lead the way in Serie A after three successive wins
Fiorentina prop up the table and remain winless after 15 games
Verona have moved to within two points of safety after back-to-back wins
There are only six games in Serie A this weekend due to the Italian Super Cup, with both Milan clubs, Bologna and Napoli involved in that competition being played in Saudi Arabia.
The standout game is a clash between Scudetto contenders Juventus and Roma on Saturday, while relegation rivals Cagliari and Pisa meet on Sunday.
Lazio vs Cremonese (Saturday, 5pm)
Lazio endured a tough start to the season with three defeats in their first four games but have impressed since.
The Rome club have only lost two of their last 11 games and both of those defeats came away to the Milan teams.
They have won four of their last five home games and have only conceded one goal during that run, so they should be able to claim a routine win over mid-table Cremonese.
Score prediction: Lazio 2-0 Cremonese
Juventus vs Roma (Saturday, 7.45pm)
Roma sit three points off the pace in the Scudetto fight, but they remain among the best travellers in Serie A as one of a trio of teams with 15 points from seven trips.
Juventus are unbeaten at home across all competitions, but have also only won one of their last four home league games.
With both defences in good shape, what looks to be this week's highlight in Italy could prove to be one for the purists rather than an action-packed affair.
Score prediction: Juventus 0-0 Roma
Cagliari vs Pisa (Sunday, 11.30am)
Promoted Pisa have found the step up to Serie A tough with just one win in 15 attempts.
Cagliari edged out Roma in their last home game and should be able to claim three vital points in their own battle against the drop against a visiting side who have lost their last three games, failing to score in all of those defeats.
Score prediction: Cagliari 2-0 Pisa
Sassuolo vs Torino (Sunday, 2pm)
Sassuolo secured an immediate return to Serie A last season and unlike Pisa have had no issues with the transition.
The Neroverdi are among the European challengers this season and they can continue their quest for a top-six spot by taking out poor travellers Torino, who are winless in five away from home.
Clean sheets have been an issue for Sassuolo, so an Il Toro consolation effort could be on the cards.
Score prediction: Sassuolo 3-1 Torino
Fiorentina vs Udinese (Sunday, 5pm)
Fiorentina have finished comfortably inside the top 10 in Serie A in each of the last four seasons, but this year they face a huge battle to avoid the drop.
La Viola sit rock-bottom of the table and are the only side yet to record a win.
There have been some encouraging signs from the Tuscan club lately, however, as they have managed home draws against high-flying pair Juve and Bologna.
Their winless streak may finally come to an end against Udinese, who have four defeats and just one win in their last six away games in all competitions.
Score prediction: Fiorentina 2-1 Udinese
Genoa vs Atalanta (Sunday, 7.45pm)
Atalanta are Italy's draw specialists with seven of their 15 games finishing all square, but they have found a way to turn those stalemates into successes recently.
La Dea have five wins form their last six matches and should have too much for a Genoa side they crushed 4-0 in Bergamo in the Coppa Italia earlier this month.
Score prediction: Genoa 1-3 Atalanta
