Inter are top of the table, five points clear of city rivals AC Milan
Roma and Napoli are both on 43 points in third and fourth
Verona, Pisa and Fiorentina are in the relegation places
There is another full slate of top-flight games in Italy coming up, spread out from Friday until Tuesday.
Here we look ahead to all 10 games, with a score prediction for each.
Lazio vs Genoa (Friday, 7.45pm)
The Serie A action kicks off with a Friday evening fixture between ninth-placed Lazio and Genoa, who are 13th.
Genoa are unbeaten in their last five league games, drawing three, and they can earn a good point in the capital.
Score prediction: Lazio 1-1 Genoa
Pisa vs Sassuolo (Saturday, 2pm)
Pisa have won just once all season and their luck is unlikely to change against mid-table Sassuolo, who picked up their first win in eight games when they narrowly beat Cremonese last time out.
Score prediction: Pisa 1-2 Sassuolo
Napoli vs Fiorentina (Saturday, 5pm)
Napoli must respond to their disappointing Champions League exit when they host Fiorentina.
The Serie A champions are fourth, nine points off leaders Inter going into the weekend fixtures, and lost to Chelsea in midweek to end their European hopes.
They should bounce back with victory over La Viola, who have only won once on the road in the Italian top-flight all season.
Score prediction: Napoli 2-0 Fiorentina
Cagliari vs Verona (Saturday, 7.45pm)
Cagliari are on a roll having won their last two games against Juventus and Fiorentina and they should have too much for bottom-of-the table Verona at home on Saturday evening.
Score prediction: Cagliari 3-0 Verona
Torino vs Lecce (Sunday, 11.30am)
Two sides just above the relegation zone meet early on Sunday in what should be a tight clash in Turin.
Both teams are in dire form, with Torino winning just one of their last five Serie A games, losing the other four, while Lecce are on a wretched seven-game winless streak.
A point apiece may suit both sides here, but do not expect fireworks.
Score prediction: Torino 0-0 Lecce
Como vs Atalanta (Sunday, 2pm)
Como are up to sixth and can secure an important victory over the side directly beneath them in the standings when they entertain Atalanta on Sunday.
Como have won three games on the spin in all competitions and can get the better of a potentially jaded La Dea, who lost 1-0 at Union Saint-Gilloise in the Champions League in midweek, although they still qualified for the play-offs.
Score prediction: Como 1-0 Atalanta
Cremonese vs Inter Milan (Sunday, 5pm)
Inter lead the way in Italy, sitting five points clear at the top and head to Cremona after missing out on a top-eight place in the Champions League, despite a 2-0 win at Borussia Dortmund.
Cristian Chivu's side should have too much for 14th-placed Cremonese, who have not won any of their last eight games.
Score prediction: Cremonese 1-4 Inter Milan
Parma vs Juventus (Sunday, 7.45pm)
After two goalless draws in a row against Napoli and Genoa, Parma were on the end of a 4-0 drubbing from Atalanta last weekend and they could be in for more pain at home to Juventus, who need a win to stay in touch with the top four.
Score prediction: Parma 0-2 Juventus
Udinese vs Roma (Monday, 7.45pm)
The Monday night game sees 10th-placed Udinese face Roma, who are third before the weekend's action begins.
This should go the way of the visitors, who are on a four-game unbeaten run in Serie A and earned a 1-1 draw at home to Milan last time.
Score prediction: Udinese 1-3 Roma
Bologna vs AC Milan (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
The week 23 action is extended into Tuesday when Bologna, who are eighth as it stands, take on second-placed AC Milan.
This could be tight considering Bologna have qualified for the play-offs in the Europa League and they did beat Inter in the Supercoppa before Christmas.
However, Milan should edge it and extend their unbeaten run to eight games.
Score prediction: Bologna 1-2 AC Milan
