Positives to take from Milan’s Internationals as three players see the field
Last night, AC Milan had five players who could’ve made appearances for their nations and three started or came on.
It was another solid night of international action where Milan are concerned, with another two performances to be impressed by.
The internationals
Starting in Scotland, Switzerland won 3-0 with Ardon Jashari and Zachary Athekame both starting. The former was ‘near flawless’ with his passing, as MilanNews relayed from RSI, giving him a score of 6.5 (inflated from the Swiss score of 4.5).
He was ‘an accountant’ with his numbers more important than his creativity.
Athekame’s performance was also solid, with another clean sheet to add to an impressive season. He’s clearly thriving currently.
Luka Modric’s Croatia were well beaten by Spain, but it gave him a chance to return and play a competitive game in an open setting for what may be the last time and the reaction was warranted.
The midfielder was unable to affect the game, playing only nine minutes, but he made an average of two touches per minute and 11/12 passes. It shows his importance, even in a game where the Spaniards were dominating.
Unfortunately, the other international appearances of the night could’ve gone to Samuel Chukwueze and Yunus Musah. However, both were unused substitutes in their games against Guinea-Bissau and Chile.
