PM: Milan appeals – Amorim desperate for ‘equaliser’ Hojbjerg in January as price attracts
AC Milan’s midfield is one of the strongest areas in the squad, but it can be further strengthened in January and it appears this would be the plan.
There is plenty of quality in the Milan squad, but there are a few areas without total balance. Of course, with a new system, this is to be expected, though. In January, Gerry Cardinale hopes to address this.
Amorim’s draw and the Milan appeal
PianetaMilan have added to the suggestions that the Rossoneri are very keen to sign Hojbjerg in the summer. Indeed, Ruben Amorim sees him as an ‘equaliser’, someone who would bring complete balance to the midfield and that is why he sits at the top of the wish list.
He has the perfect identikit in Amorim’s eyes, partnering physicality only found in Yunus Musah with brains found inside Luka Modric.
An offer between €10-15 million could be enough in January, especially with Marseille struggling with significant budget issues currently. They ‘desperately need to cash in’ on some assets and Hojbjerg’s departure would undoubtedly help.
That’s not all, either. After rejecting a move to Newcastle in the summer, the Dane was attracted to the project in Milano. The honour of playing for a club of the Diavolo’s prestige and playing for a manager who holds him in such high regard appeals massively.
Everything aligns for what could be a ‘lightning-quick’ transfer in a few months.
