Officially: Juventus bolster their midfield with a signing from Tottenham

The lineup was completed with the announcement of Spurs

Tottenham midfielder Pape Sarr has sealed a loan move to Juventus in the closing days of the summer transfer window.

Spurs confirmed the deal on their official X account. The Italian club hold an option to buy that turns obligatory if certain conditions are met.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the total package is worth around 26 million pounds sterling. Sarr pushed for the move to Turin after making clear he wanted regular game time.

The Senegal international leaves north London after five years and more than 140 appearances for Tottenham.

His contract carries a conditional purchase. Juventus will pay around 1.7 million pounds sterling for the loan, with an additional buy clause worth 24 million pounds sterling built into the agreement.

That clause becomes obligatory if Juventus qualify for the Champions League or the Europa League and Sarr features in at least 50% of the team's matches.

Spurs could therefore bank around 26 million pounds sterling for the 23-year-old, having signed him from Metz for 16.9 million pounds sterling in 2021.

Sarr's standing in midfield had slipped under Roberto De Zerbi. Tottenham bolstered the position this summer, with Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes joining Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo Bentancur, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall in the ranks.
