AC Milan have officially announced the signing of forward Omari Hutchinson, who joins on a loan with option to buy deal from Nottingham Forest.

It is no secret that Milan were in the market for a new attacking midfielder, more specifically someone left-footed who could operate in an inverted role on the right. A number of names were linked, from Matias Soule and Ethan Nwaneri to Konstantinos Karetsas and Brahim Diaz.

A few days ago, it emerged that Hutchinson was one of the targets, given that he was granted the green light to depart Forest after a tough first season there. On Saturday the ‘here we go’ arrived from Fabrizio Romano, and it became clear everything had moved very quickly.

Hutchinson to Milan: Now it’s official

The Englishman touched down in Italy on Sunday night and he began his medical on Tuesday morning. Then he had a sports fitness test before heading to Casa Milan to sign his contract.

Now, the official announcement has followed: “AC Milan today announced the temporary signing of Omari Elijah Giraud‑Hutchinson from Nottingham Forest FC, including an option to make the transfer permanent. The loan agreement runs until 30 June 2027.

“Omari Hutchinson will wear the number 20 shirt. The Club extends a warm welcome to Omari as he joins the Rossoneri family.”

As a reminder, it is expected to be a loan deal with a fee of €3-4m and an option to buy that is set at €40m, so Hutchinson will have to hit the ground running to make it permanent.
