Not only Juventus, AC Milan are also interested in Alejandro Balde
Barcelona's full-back is not finding any space and in January will end up on the market
Alejandro Balde looks set to be one of the big names in the next winter transfer window. The Barcelona full-back has slipped to the fringes of Hansi Flick's plans and, in this early part of the season, he is not getting game time, not even off the bench in the German manager's rotations.
With January approaching, plenty of clubs have joined the queue and according to Fichajes in Spain, alongside Juventus, AC Milan have also made their move in recent hours.
Third choice for Flick
As things stand, Balde has made only one appearance this season, and even that lasted just 12 minutes after he came on with the game already done in the 7-2 La Liga win over Racing Santander.
Under Hansi Flick, the 2003-born player is currently third choice at left-back behind the undisputed first-choice Joao Cancelo and fellow academy product Xavi Espart, who has played on the left despite being a natural right-footer, like the former Inter and Juventus Portuguese player.
The contract and the background to Inter
During a long summer in which several moves came to nothing, and with the full-back himself determined to make his mark at the club where he came through the ranks, Balde was also offered to Inter in potential talks that quickly collapsed, first for Alessandro Bastoni and then for Lautaro Martinez.
Inter refused to entertain offers involving player exchanges and, in the end, the full-back stayed at Barcelona. Over his future, however, there is also a contract issue, with his deal expiring on 30 June 2028. That relatively near deadline means the next two transfer windows are the last chances to generate a capital gain from his sale.
Not only Juventus, AC Milan are there too
Baldé wants more game time and, with minutes hard to come by at Barcelona, he will look for it elsewhere. Juventus have put him on a shortlist of targets for the flank and are weighing up a move to give Luciano Spalletti the left-back he asked for in the summer but never got in Turin.
AC Milan are in the race too. Ruben Amorim has made the same request to Gerry Cardinale and, according to Fichajes, the club have started tracking Baldé as they assess whether a deal could be done in January.
