“Need time to find the right harmony” – Cardinale comments after Milan beat Lecce

AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale spoke to the media after the final whistle at San Siro following the 3-0 win over Lecce.

Milan won rather comfortably at San Siro against Lecce, but above all it was the convincing nature of their performance which stood out. It means that Ruben Amorim’s team go into the international break with three wins and two draws in Serie A, and zero defeats.

Tonight’s display was certainly their most positive under the new coach, with the stadium turning the boos following the Europa League match against Benfica into chants and applause. Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira got the goals to mark San Siro’s 100th birthday the right way.

According to MilanNews, Cardinale put out a statement expressing his satisfaction after the game, which was the fifth one out of five he has watched in person.

“It was one of the best 90 minutes of football we’ve seen. I want to congratulate Ruben and our players for continuing to fight in these first matches before the international break.

“It shouldn’t be lost on anyone that a new coach, with a new style of play and new players, will need time to find the right harmony. And I thank our fans for supporting us in this transition phase, as we try to get things right and bring AC Milan back to its winning tradition.”
