Filippo Terracciano will stay at AC Milan for the 2026-27 season, according to a report, as Ruben Amorim sees potential in the youngster.

Terracciano got a decent chunk of playing time in pre-season, playing to the right in the Rossoneri’s three-man backline. While he wasn’t always brilliant, as shown by the big mistake against Man Utd (and the one against Chelsea), there were some positive moments too.

Above all, it seems the versatility of the 23-year-old has won over Amorim. Primarily used as a centre-back in recent years, he can also play as a defensive midfielder and a wing-back if needed, which is always appreciated.

No exit or loan on the cards

Having said all of the above, although a loan exit or even a permanent one seemed absolutely certain at the start of the summer, it seems the player will stay at the club.

On Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto provided a short but clear update on the former Hellas Verona man: “Filippo Terracciano will definitely stay at Milan, so he’s not on his way out,” he said.

Considering that Fikayo Tomori is set to depart from the club, Terracciano could be an important backup for the centre-back positions. Especially if Milan were to focus their efforts on signing an attacking midfielder instead of a centre-back in the final days of the mercato.
