Moretto: Milan and Krösche don’t align on all fronts as casting process continues

Matteo Moretto has clarified AC Milan’s interest in bringing in Markus Krösche as a Head of Football, with some reports suggesting the parties are close.

Krösche has been linked with a move to Milan ever since the summer, when the Rossoneri opened talks with the German director. However, also due to Eintracht Frankfurt’s reluctance, nothing materialised and Gerry Cardinale opted for some in-house solutions instead.

The links haven’t died down though, on the contrary, they have almost been fueled as Milan are still looking for a figure to occupy that role. Just a few days ago, it was reported that he remains the leading candidate for the job.

Casting remains open

In Fabrizio Romano’s latest video, Matteo Moretto has clarified the situation, stating that Milan are absolutely evaluating other candidates as well. In fact, there are even some points on which the Rossoneri and Krösche don’t agree.

“Gerry Cardinale is trying to improve the organisational structure from a sporting point of view. There has always been the idea of bringing in a Head of Football, adding one or even two figures to the management.

“We have talked about contacts with Krösche, but as of today, I can tell you that there is no agreement with him. In fact, there is even a slight distance regarding the vision and the role to be undertaken within the Milan structure.

“So Krösche is a name, but he’s not the only one. We shall see what will happen because the casting process is still open,” he stated.
