Moretto: Milan and Juventus ‘in contact’ with two names ‘on the table’
There could be some late movement involving AC Milan and Juventus, with discussions underway over two players.
Just as he did at Manchester United, Ruben Amorim has created a ‘bomb squad’ as the English media put it. More specifically, he has cast four players aside that are not a part of his plans: Youssouf Fofana, Fikayo Tomori, David Odogu and Christopher Nkunku.
All four have been told to find a new club before the window closes and it looks like Odogu will be the first to do so, with Toulouse having agreed a loan deal. There has been talk from Tuttosport about a possible late swap deal between Milan and Juventus for one of the quartet, too.
Milan duo ‘on the table’
Matteo Moretto commented on the rumours in a video published on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, and he confirmed that there is the possibility of a late swoop.
“There’s a lot of talk about Fofana, but today there’s nothing concrete or imminent. AC Milan has many players on their way out, those who have already left did so on loan, in simple deals, while it remains to be seen how the others will be settled,” he said (via MilanNews).
“Tomori-Juventus? It’s a mix of agents offering players, intermediaries looking for solutions, and clubs willing to listen. Milan and Juventus have been in contact to understand, evaluate, and study deals between now and the end of the transfer window.
“Fofana’s name has certainly been put on the table, as has Tomori’s. The Englishman had been linked to Juventus as early as January. The Bianconeri club wanted him, and in previous transfers as well.”
