Matteo Moretto has confirmed that AC Milan are keen on Granada star Owen Emeka, but they are not the only club.

Even though summer is now well behind us, the transfer market never sleeps. In recent days, La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke about Milan’s interest in Emeka, even revealing that the club sent a scout to watch him in action last month.

Yesterday, Matteo Moretto also confirmed his interest on his X profile: “The contract binding Owen Emeka to Granada until 2029 includes a 15-million-euro release clause. Before the renewal finalized in recent months, Real Madrid showed interest in the forward, but negotiations did not progress.

“In recent weeks, Owen Emeka has caught the eye of other top clubs like Milan, Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, and Newcastle. It remains to be seen whether official offers for him might arrive in the coming months.”

One for the future

Owen Mira Chukwuemeka – known as Owen Emeka – currently plays in the Spanish second division. The 17-year-old has played six times for Granada this season, scoring one goal. The talented Spanish winger is not yet a regular for his club, but started the last three games.

The only game in which he played more than an hour was the penultimate one before the break against Albacete. Emeka played 70 minutes that night, even finding the net to make it 1-0 (the match ended 1-1). That is the game Milan apparently had a scout at.

Emeka became Granada’s youngest goalscorer at 17 years, 4 months, and 23 days. The Nigerian-born Malaga native was deployed as a right winger in a 4-3-3, a position in which he can cut onto his left foot to showcase his remarkable ball-striking ability.
