MN: Musah expected to be given opportunity as Modric is dropped – what filters about Milan’s XI vs. Man Utd
This afternoon, AC Milan will face Manchester United at the Tarczyński Arena in Wrocław, Poland and some news has emerged about the team.
Ahead of Milan’s final pre-season friendly, there has been plenty of news about the situation the club faces with injuries and the squad generally, with four players excluded in the past few days for several reasons.
So, we’ve headed towards this fixture with little to no idea about the XI that could be selected.
An update to the XI
MilanNews have now provided an update on their expected XI for the game and there are a few interesting inclusions. As predicted in last night’s preview, the backline will consist of Lorenzo Torriani, Filippo Terracciano, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlovic.
In front of them, though, there are several changes. Samuel Chukwueze is given the nod ahead of Alexis Saelemaekers at wing-back again, whilst Pervis Estupinan has been given another chance, despite being named on the list of players who can leave.
Centrally, Luka Modric will be benched for Yunus Musah, who is largely expected to stay now and will get a start ahead of the Croatian veteran.
The front three, as expected, should consist of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Alphadjo Cisse and Goncalo Ramos.
It will certainly be interesting to see who takes the armband here, with Mike Maignan and Matteo Gabbia not with the team and Modric not starting.
MilanNews’ expected AC Milan XI vs. Manchester United (3-4-2-1): Torriani; Terracciano, De Winter, Pavlovic; Chukwueze, Musah, Jashari, Estupinan; Loftus-Cheek, Cisse; Ramos.
