MN: Moreira out, faith in Estupinan – how Milan should line up against Lazio

The AC Milan squad trained at Milanello on Thursday afternoon in view of the trip to Lazio, and some indications on the team have arrived.

After winning against Torino away and Venezia at home, Milan dropped points for the first time in 2026-27 on Sunday night as they conceded late to draw 1-1 with Juventus. Now, a third away game in four follows this weekend, this time in the capital against Lazio.

According to MilanNews, Ruben Amorim will deploy his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation. Mike Maignan will remain in goal with the captain’s armband. Koni De Winter will retain his place in the centre of the defence, flanked by Mario Gila and Strahinja Pavlovic.

On the wings, Samuel Chukwueze and Pervis Estupinan should get the nod, with the latter having the upper hand in the battle with Davide Bartesaghi. It would mean that Diego Moreira would cede his place too, having started on the right in Turin.

In midfield, Yunus Musah is expected to start once again alongside Luka Modric, having the advantage over Ardon Jashari. However, it is not excluded that Adrien Rabiot could start in the double pivot, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek starting at playmaker.

At present it seems as though Rabiot will continue in the right-sided attacking midfielder spot, with Alphadjo Cisse returning on the left after his goal against Juventus. Goncalo Ramos will lead the line, Christian Pulisic is expected to get his first minutes off the bench.
