MN: A friendly then more time off – how the rest of Milan’s schedule for the week looks
As the extended international break continues, the AC Milan squad are continuing their work at Milanello.
Milan had the joint-most players called up out of any Serie A club (15, the same as Como) which means that the group of players available to Ruben Amorim has been depleted. Nonetheless, preparations for the Sassuolo game on October 11 continue.
MilanNews report that tomorrow morning, Milan will play a friendly match behind closed doors against Serie B side Padova. The idea of the game is to keep match rhythm and allow those who have not played as much as others so far – like Matteo Gabbia – to begin to get into their best shape.
Alexis Saelemaekers will be unavailable, having sprained his ankle on Tuesday. The latest reports suggest that the versatile Belgian could be forced to sit out for around 10 days, which would mean that missing games is possible after the resumptions of action.
The report goes on to state that after the game at Milanello the players will be granted two days off by coach Amorim and his staff. Saturday and Sunday will therefore be rest days for the team, with training scheduled to resume on Monday morning at the Carnago training complex.
