Milan-Como: direct contact for Ricci

The Italian midfielder is in Fabregas's sights

Not just a move for Moise Kean at Como. Cesc Fabregas's club are trying to wrap up the final deals to give the Spanish manager a highly competitive squad, ready both to consolidate their place in the league and to make a strong impression in the Champions League.

Up front is the obvious priority and Fiorentina's Italian striker is a concrete option, but the European squad list issue has also pushed Samuele Ricci to the fore. He is not officially on the way out at AC Milan, but he can leave.

Ruben Amorim has not included him among those cut from his current set-up, but Ricci sits behind Modric, Rabiot, Jashari and, obviously, Loftus-Cheek, while he waits to see whether anything else might still arrive from the transfer market.

The former Empoli and Torino player knows full well he failed to impress in his first season with AC Milan and, as a result, does not want to say goodbye after just one year and without results, leaving behind the dream of wearing the shirt of the team he has supported since childhood. Now, though, he has started to consider the possibility of a move to a club like Como, who give young players game time and help them develop, including on the international stage.

Today, thanks to the mediation work of Ricci's agent, who has an excellent relationship with Como, the two clubs held fresh direct talks. AC Milan have not ruled out a departure, but only a year ago they paid around €23 million to Torino for him and cannot, and do not want to, let him go on the cheap.

For Como, as mentioned, that could also matter when it comes to drawing up the UEFA lists, where players trained in Italy, Kean is too, as is Liberali, who is already with the Biancoblu, can take up a separate slot in the final squad list.
