Lecce, Di Francesco on Banda: "Very disappointed, we will sign someone stronger"
The Salento side's manager speaks at the press conference
Lameck Banda's case continues to dominate matters at Lecce. Eusebio Di Francesco gave an update at a press conference and offered a blunt assessment of the situation involving the Zambia-born forward, who was born in 2001.
"We haven’t even discussed the subject with the lads; from time to time we’ve even joked about it. I am very disappointed, both on a human and professional level. We will try to bring in someone stronger than him," the Giallorossi manager said.
Banda has not returned to Italy after his holidays and reportedly has no intention of resuming training with Lecce. His absence has inevitably complicated the plans of both the club and Di Francesco ahead of the new season.
The case has also reached the desk of the FIGC. In Libya, Al Swehli tried to register Banda as a free agent, but the request was rejected: the forward is still under contract with the Salento club, with a deal running until 30 June 2027.
