Juventus working on Tagliafico, but need Cabal to accept Atalanta first
Juventus are working for Argentina international Nicolas Tagliafico from Olympique Lyonnais, but first need Juan Cabal to agree a transfer to Atalanta, claim multiple sources.
The Bianconeri are seeking more experience for their defence and it has been clear all summer that Cabal is not part of coach Luciano Spalletti’s plans.
Juventus pushing for Tagliafico
Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia, Fabrizio Romano and more all confirm that they are in negotiations with Olympique Lyonnais for veteran full-back Tagliafico, who celebrates his 34th birthday today.
The Argentine is able to play as a left-back, in a more advanced role, or in central defence.
He is down to the final season of his contract in France, so that should not be a difficult process, but Juventus are limited in some ways.
They can only manage to bring Tagliafico in if they first manage to get Cabal off their books.
Atalanta are discussing the possibility of signing the Colombian, but he has rejected several other loan moves already this summer, and is proving a tricky customer.
Bologna and Besiktas have already shown an interest in Cabal, but the 25-year-old resisted after his €12.8m move to Juve from Hellas Verona in 2024.
