Juventus, talks under way with Atletico Madrid over Jonathan David: the latest

Juventus are working on the sale of the Canadian; talks are under way for Zirkzee or Woltemade as arrivals

Juventus and Atletico Madrid remain in constant contact over Jonathan David, the Canada striker born in 2000 who is heading away from Continassa after a disappointing season and the start of 2026-27 in much the same vein as the last one. In Saturday's match against Parma, David was loudly jeered when he went off for Nico Gonzalez. After the official offer submitted by the Colchoneros on Sunday, for a loan deal with an option to buy, contacts between the Juventus hierarchy, with chief executive Giovanni Carnevali and sporting director Frederic Massara, are continuing today as well.

Under contract until 30 June 2030 on a significant net salary of €6 million per season, the Canadian born in 2000 has already opened the door to the move to Cholo Simeone's side and is waiting for the parties to reach an agreement that can resolve the situation and satisfy everyone involved.

Incoming: Zirkzee or Woltemade

At the same time, Juventus are continuing talks over the signing of a new centre-forward. Alexander Sorloth remains one of the options, but Atletico do not seem open to that possibility. The Old Lady are now in talks over two other players: top of the list is Dutchman Joshua Zirkzee, born in 2001, of Manchester United and formerly of Bologna. The other option leads to Nick Woltemade, a German born in 2002, for whom Newcastle are open to a loan move.
