Juventus send David to Atletico Madrid, secure Woltemade for €5m from Newcastle United

Juventus have agreed the Jonathan David loan to Atletico Madrid with option to buy for €25m, at the same time securing Nick Woltemade on a €5m loan from Newcastle United.

Sky Sport Italia confirm that the agreements have been reached on all sides, with documentation exchanged for David.

Juve will have to cover around 50 per cent of David’s wages during the loan experience in Madrid to make the move go through, but hope that the CANMNT striker can impress enough to earn a permanent transfer.

It is the second season in a row that the two clubs have done a similar deal, because Nico Gonzalez was at the Wanda Metropolitano last term.

In turn, Juventus have already secured his replacement, as Sky Sport Italia note they will pay €5m to bring in Woltemade on a dry loan from Newcastle United.

That means there is no option to buy at the end of the season, but they are working on agreeing personal terms before getting the all clear.

According to the initial reports, including from Sky Sports Deutschland, that is proving to be difficult, as Woltemade is not enthusiastic.
