In the final hours of the transfer window, Juventus try to give Spalletti an extra option on the left flank

Juventus are working the market in these final hours to complete the left flank and have set their sights on Nicolás Tagliafico. The Argentine full-back is liked by the Juventus hierarchy and could become a concrete option in the closing stages of the summer transfer window, especially if Juan Cabal leaves Turin.

His possible arrival would have a clear logic within Luciano Spalletti’s rotations. Born in 1992, Tagliafico would bring international experience, personality and reliability, qualities the manager particularly values. Juventus want to add an experienced option to the squad, capable of rotating on the left and giving them greater depth.

Favourable conditions

Right now, on the left flank, Spalletti can rely mainly on Andrea Cambiaso, while in recent games Zeki Celik has also been used there and started on that side against Parma. Tagliafico's arrival would therefore offer a more natural option in the role and, above all, a player used to coping with the pressure of big matches.

The formula could also make the move an interesting one. Tagliafico is under contract with Lyon until 30 June 2027: a relatively near deadline that could favour a loan deal, possibly with an option or an obligation to buy. Much, however, will depend on the financial terms of the deal and above all on Juventus' possible departures.

It depends on Cabal

Tagliafico has worn the Lyon shirt since 2022 and has made 102 appearances and scored 9 goals during his time in France. That record has been built partly on the biggest European and international stages, exactly the kind of pedigree that appeals to Juventus.

The situation, therefore, remains closely tied to Cabal’s future. If the Colombian were to leave, Juventus could accelerate for Tagliafico, with the Argentine identified as the experienced addition to complete the left flank and give Spalletti more options.
