Juventus have agreed a deal to sign Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario after Fabrizio Romano reported issues with signing Emi Martinez.

Juve have been linked with both Vicario and Martinez during this summer. The Argentine has seemed their favourite option, but Aston Villa made it clear they didn't want to lose him.

Per Martinez's agent, he was also happy to remain with Villa.

But in recent days, speculation over his exit became a talking point again, and the Villans appear to potentially have washed their hands of him, with the signing of Zion Suzuki nearing, and the Japan international said to be coming in as the No.1.

Juve pushed to get the deal done for Martinez on Sunday, but by the evening, Romano reported information from all sides that it wouldn't be happening, as there were huge differences on the price and Juve were wary of a finger issue sustained by the Villa keeper.

In response, Juve have agreed to sign Vicario from Spurs. Tottenham are said to have accepted a loan with an option to buy deal.

Personal terms were agreed prior to the club agreement, and Vicario will be at Juventus on Monday to complete his medical and sign his deal for the season.

Juventus will move Di Gregorio on

Throughout the summer, the suggestion was that should Juve sign a new keeper, they'd part company with one of their current corps, Michele Di Gregorio.

Romano reports the Juve keeper will be loaned out for the season, should a suitable home be found for him.

The insider states Marseille have been offered his services, while one more club abroad have, too.

The 29-year-old played the majority of games for Juve last season, but the Italian club have been trying all summer to replace him with a new goalkeeper.

With that said, Vicario will surely come in as the No.1, and should he impress on loan, his transfer will likely be made permanent.

There is no suggestion from insiders Romano or David Ornstein exactly how much Juve will pay for Vicario should his loan deal become permanent next summer.
