According to the report, Spence is still dealing with the effects of a previous physical problem. After playing for England at the World Cup, the former Tottenham player must effectively rebuild his preparation from scratch through a tailored individual programme.

The report adds that the demands and risks are considerable for a wide player expected to cover the entire flank. Cristian Chivu does not intend to accelerate Spence’s timetable.
