Sky Sport Italia reports that Inter star Federico Dimarco picked up a mild sprain of the left knee during Saturday’s Serie A match against Napoli, leaving the Italy international in doubt for Tuesday’s Champions League game against Real Madrid.

Inter and Italy defender Dimarco might not be available for next week’s Champions League game against Real Madrid.

Dimarco was subbed off in the second half of Inter’s 3-2 win over Napoli on Saturday, and according to Sky, the defender has suffered a mild sprain of his left knee.

According to Sky Sport, Inter’s medical staff will assess Dimarco’s condition tomorrow, Monday, September 7, and determine whether he’ll be available for the away game in Madrid.

Sky reports that Cristian Chivu could decide to bring the Italian defender to Madrid, but whether he’ll be involved remains to be seen.

The Italian broadcasters note that Dimarco is in good spirits, having stopped to greet fans and sign autographs this morning after leaving Inter’s training centre.

Dimarco, 28, was named the Best Serie A Player in the 2025-26 campaign.

He has provided one assist in three Serie A games so far this season.
