Inter immediately swoop for Romano and Mendy: Nerazzurri scout at Atalanta v Cagliari

Inter are always on the lookout for new talent and are also keeping an eye on Cagliari’s players

Inter are keeping a close eye on Italy's best young talent and have also turned their attention to Cagliari, with Alessandro Romano and Paul Mendy now in the Nerazzurri directors' notebook.

An Inter scout attended the New Balance Arena for Atalanta v Cagliari to take a close look at the 2006-born midfielder and the Senegalese forward, who scored the goal that gave Pisacane's side a temporary lead. This was reported by Pasquale Guarro.

Romano has earned particularly positive reviews, with his technical quality, tidy use of the ball and ability to read the game all standing out. The young midfielder looks more like a holding player in a two-man midfield than a mezzala. Mendy has also made an excellent impression, showing quality and significant room for improvement. Along with the goal he scored, the Senegalese forward has convinced Inter's scouts with his potential and the technical and athletic base they believe they can build on.
