Inter announce official squad numbers for Serie A: Massolin left out, Luis Henrique and Asllani included. Stones with No 6, Spence with No 99
Several official announcements for Inter arrive via Lega Serie A
In a statement released through its official channels, Serie A has confirmed the squad numbers submitted by clubs and players eligible to feature in the opening round of the 2026/2027 season, which starts tomorrow, Saturday 22 August.
Several clubs have fresh changes and there are a few big-name absentees. Among Inter’s ranks, the inclusion of several young players promoted from the Under-23s has been confirmed, along with the squad numbers for new signings Stankovic, Spence and Stones. Curtis Jones does not appear on the list because his contract has still not been registered, but he is not the only notable absentee.
The players in doubt
Among the possible departures, Yanis Massolin has also been left out of this squad number list for the Serie A opener. He arrived from Modena at the start of pre-season and is still injured, but above all he is set to leave Inter on loan in the next few days, specifically to Monza, their first opponents of the season.
Included, though, are both Kristijan Asllani, also wanted by Monza, with the number 21, Luis Henrique, with Roma stepping up their interest in him again, with the 11, and Benjamin Pavard, who takes back the number 28 and who Cristian Chivu has effectively confirmed is no longer on the market.
The youngsters and the new arrivals
Serie A have confirmed Stankovic will wear the No 5 shirt that belonged to his father Dejan, while Stones has taken No 6 and Djed Spence will wear No 99, left vacant a year ago when Mehdi Taremi was sold. Provedel, meanwhile, will take No 49.
Several young players also remain with the first team, including Leonardo Bovio in No 46, Mattia Mosconi in No 48, Jamal Iddrissou in No 52 and finally Luka Topalovic in No 58.
