“I fell in love” – Totti admits that he would’ve joined Milan if Roma exit happened

Francesco Totti is one of the most loved players Italy have had and he could’ve played for AC Milan at several stages, it seems.

Picturing Totti in a shirt other than Roma’s feels difficult, but it could well have happened. In another world, there’s perhaps a timeline that sees him not reaching the 600 games that he played for the Giallorossi.

It could’ve instead seen him play for Milan and there’s been a few suggestions as to how this could’ve happened.

Totti would’ve joined Milan?

Totti has previously spoken about fantasising about joining the club as a youngster. Now, he’s added some more information about his admiration for the club and he would have joined the Rossoneri if he had left Rome, as MilanNews relayed from his interview with Corriere dello Sport.

“If I had to leave Roma, which Italian team would I have most willingly joined? Milan, also because I fell in love with it as a child. Those were the years of Sacchi and the three Dutchmen; they won everywhere.

“As an Italian, I was struck by lightning. It was a beautiful team to watch, truly beautiful.”

It would’ve been interesting to see Totti representing the Diavolo and he’d be joining a long list of footballing icons to represent the club.
