“I don’t think there’s room for us” – Costacurta admits Milan return seems difficult under RedBird

Billy Costacurta has never shied away from speaking honestly about AC Milan and whilst he’d love to return to the club, it seems difficult.

Under RedBird, there have been plenty of management changes to the point where the structure is almost completely different to when they found it. Of course, this is not the worst thing and there have been several departures that fans have celebrated.

Yet, there have also been frustrating ones, headlined by Paolo Maldini, of course.

There have since been several calls for his return, but it seems very unlikely that it’ll happen under the current management.

Costacurta’s return statement

Speaking to SportItalia, the former defender spoke about a return to the Rossoneri and why he thinks it won’t happen anytime soon, as MilanNews relays.

“We [Milan] need clear ideas. I don’t think there’s room for any of us anymore. It’s clear that I’ve never closed the door, because if I think that at 55 I went to be the commissioner of the federation, it shows that I’m open to anything, but I don’t think that will happen.

“I honestly don’t seek them out, and I don’t think they’ll seek me out, basically.”

Whether the same would go for others of the same mould remains to be seen, but it’s clear that he’s not optimistic for him or anyone else.
