How Juventus could line up against Sassuolo amid injury crisis

Luciano Spalletti has limited options in central midfield with just two players available for the next match against Sassuolo: here’s how the Bianconeri could line up at the Mapei Stadium.

Juventus will visit Sassuolo on Sunday night, but are currently preparing for their trip to Reggio Emilia without nine first-team players.

Kenan Yildiz, Manuel Locatelli and Khephren Thuram are those expected to remain out of action for longer, while Weston McKennie, Andrea Cambiaso and Pape Matar Sarr are being monitored day by day.

As things stand, the only central midfielders available for the next Serie A match are Douglas Luiz and Teun Koopmeiners.

According to Gazzetta, only Sarr and McKennie might recover in time for this weekend’s clash, but they are surely not fit to start, and the Tottenham loanee has more chances to recover than the USMNT star.

Sarr is working to regain match fitness, while McKennie is dealing with muscle fatigue.

According to Gazzetta, Spalletti is expected to confirm the same back line that drew 1-1 against Milan last weekend: Pierre Kalulu, Gleison Bremer, Jhon Lucumì and Zeki Celik.

Koopmeiners and Douglas Luiz will be the starters in central midfield, with NextGen talent Augusto Sedorf Owusu going to the bench, as he did against Milan, to add depth in the middle of the park.

Kerim Alajbegovic, Nico Gonzalez and Francisco Conceiçao will likely start again behind Randal Kolo Muani, whom Spalletti defended despite a poor performance against Milan.
