How can Juventus play without the injured Yildiz? From Alajbegovic to Boga and Nico Gonzalez, all Spalletti's options

If the Turk is out for a long time, how could Spalletti replace him?

How would Juventus play if Kenan Yildiz were ruled out for a long spell with injury? La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported rumours of an issue with the Turk's left foot, while Tuttosport has gone further and spoken of a "fracture" to the left foot. If confirmed, that scenario could even force the 2005-born player to undergo surgery and keep him out for two or three months. In that case, Luciano Spalletti would have to work out how to replace the number 10. Spalletti, who has been loudly calling for a centre-forward who can operate in the penalty area, is not short of options out wide.

There are plenty of choices, with Kerim Alajbegović and Jeremie Boga on the left, and Francisco Conceicao and Edon Zhegrova on the right. In Juventus' current squad, those who could also be used as attacking wingers are Jonathan David (who is on the market), the versatile Weston McKennie and, above all, the Argentine Nico Gonzalez, who would like to return to Atletico Madrid. For that solution to happen, one key element is still missing: the right offer, of at least €25 million, from the Colchoneros for Juventus.

First in line would be Alajbegovic, Juventus' new signing, a Bosnian born in 2007 who arrived in the summer for 32 million, followed by the experienced Boga, an Ivorian born in 1997, whom Juventus signed permanently for €4.75 million from Nice after his loan spell from January to June. Boga was the man who replaced Yildiz yesterday in the 69th minute of Juventus' 1-0 win away to Frosinone.

According to Tuttosport, the No 10 could be forced to miss a run of key fixtures in Juventus' league calendar: Parma, AC Milan, Sassuolo, Atalanta, Cagliari, Lazio, Lecce, Genoa, Napoli and Fiorentina. That would also rule him out of, of course, their opening matches in the Europa League league phase.
