Hellas Verona 2-0 Milan Primavera: Colombo sees red in first defeat of season

Milan Primavera tasted defeat for the first time this season, losing 2-0 to Hellas Verona away from home on Saturday afternoon.

The Primavera beat Juventus 2-0 at the PUMA House of Football last weekend. Luca Nolli was in many ways the star of the show, as he provided two assists within six first-half minutes for Edoardo Tartaglia and the captain Andrea Cullotta, which would prove to be enough thanks to an excellent defensive effort.

The hope was that Giovanni Renna’s side could follow it up with another win, this time on the road against Verona. However, it wasn’t to be.

Primavera fall short in Verona

The match started at a fast pace, with both teams searching for the opening goal. In the opening minutes, both the home and away sides had good chances, but neither managed to capitalise on them.

The Rossoneri had two great opportunities with Cullotta and Zaramella, but in the 39th minute it was the Gialloblu who scored with Gardin. He received the ball from Akalé who had taken advantage of a Rossoneri mistake, finishing from inside the box.

In the second half there were fewer chances as the home side managed their lead, and the game became more fragmented with several fouls and cards. Milan had a few half-chances, but none were glaring.

In the 85th minute, Colombo was shown a red card after being geting a second yellow to stop a counterattack. Verona then sealed the deal in the 89th minute with De Rossi. This was the first defeat of the season for the young Rossoneri, who remain on seven points.
