Gimenez bids farewell to Milan with social media message: “It was a dream come true”

Santiago Gimenez has bid farewell to AC Milan with a social media post having headed to FC Porto on an initial loan deal.

On Monday night, Porto confirmed the signing of Gimenez on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. There is an conditional obligation to buy inserted into the deal too, which would be triggered based on certain team and individual targets.

In his unveiling interview, the striker admitted he didn’t do as well as hoped at Milan, but insisted he has learned a lot too. Gimenez published a brief message on his Instagram page in which he thanked the fans for their support during his time at the club.

“It was a dream come true playing for AC Milan and sharing this time with you. I will always carry it in my heart. Thank you for everything, AC Milan fans. Forza Milan!!!”

As mentioned, there is a chance that the Mexican could still return to the club next summer if the objectives for the obligation are not met and the option is not exercised.
