Genoa send Coulibaly back to Leicester, Norton-Cuffy to Hull and secure Drameh
Woyo Coullibaly will not be joining Genoa on the final day of the Serie A transfer window, despite arriving in Italy to complete the deal, and the Grifone are now expected to proceed with the signing of Cody Drameh from Hull City instead whilst Brooke Norton-Cuffy moves in the opposite direction.
Genoa’s right-back rollercoaster: Coulibaly off, Drameh in, Norton-Cuffy out
Genoa have completely chopped and changed in their right-back position over the last few hours.
Despite the fact that Coublibaly had arrived in the city of Genoa, the club will not be proceeding with his signing after a last-minute break-down in negotiations. According to reports from transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Leicester City had attempted to change the terms of the deal and this caused the deal to be called off.
Meanwhile, Genoa are reportedly set to sign Drameh from newly-promoted Premier League side Hull City instead.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Genoa and Hull have already exchanged the necessary paperwork for the Drameh deal and he is expected to join Daniele De Rossi’s side before the close of the summer transfer window this evening.
Current Genoa right-back, Norton-Cuffy, is expected to join Hull City. He had been on the verge of joining Venezia in a €14m deal according to reports on Monday evening, but now appears set to return to the UK to have his first full season at Premier League level.
