GdS: Ramos ‘beats Haaland’ and ‘sends Ronaldo to the bench’ – Milan man the real ‘phenomena’

In Norway’s game against Portugal, most expected the headlines to be written by the headliners, but AC Milan’s Goncalo Ramos proved himself in their company.

Ramos went for an elite-striker fee in the summer, but most wouldn’t have him in that bracket. A striker who needs his team to support him; he’s not your typical No.9, that much is certain.

Yet, he is proven to be a goalscorer and if he hits form, Milan could have a cure on their hands for the goalscoring issue that has plagued them in recent years. Yesterday’s was his first goal in almost a month; if the next wait isn’t so long, the optimism will increase.

Ramos steals spotlight

In this morning’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, the round-up of the Norway vs. Portugal game was centred around Ramos, as can be seen below. It was supposed to be a ‘night of the phenomena’. Instead, it was taken by Ramos.

With Cristiano Ronaldo facing Erling Haaland, they were expected to take headlines, but it wasn’t them but the Rossoneri’s man. He grabbed a goal – and maybe should’ve had two more – whilst Ronaldo sat on the bench.

The Norwegian machine got himself a goal, but the headlines were stolen by Ramos’ chip, on whom the ‘spotlight falls’.
