GdS: Predicted XIs for Lazio vs. Milan – Cisse returns, Estupinan keeps place
AC Milan will play their third away game in four to begin the Serie A campaign this evening, this time against Lazio.
Milan were close to being three wins from three last weekend against Juventus, but for a last-gasp equaliser from Federico Gatti. Nonetheless, seven points from nine isn’t a bad return for Ruben Amorim to begin the campaign.
However, tonight he faces an opponent who Milanisti know and love in Gennaro Gattuso. He has led Lazio to three wins from three in the league so far so they are joint-top, and can move outright top for at least 48 hours this evening.
Lazio vs. AC Milan: Predicted XIs
The good news is that Milan have a clean bill of health heading into this one. Matteo Gabbia has shaken off an ankle issue and will be in the squad, while Mario Gila – who came off against Juventus complaining of discomfort – trained normally and will face his former club.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report this morning that Goncalo Ramos will once again lead the line for Milan. He will be flanked by Adrien Rabiot on the right and the returning Alphadjo Cisse on the left, back in after his goal in Turin.
Behind them will be a midfield double pivot of Luka Modric and Yunus Musah. Samuel Chukwueze comes back in for Diego Moreira at right wing-back, and Pervis Estupinan should keep his place on the opposite side.
At the back, the goalkeeper and captain Mike Maignan should be protected by a three-man defence of Gila, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlovic, hoping for a second clean sheet.
