GdS: Cardinale to keep up appearance record by attending Lecce game
Gerry Cardinale has attended all four of AC Milan’s Serie A games this season so far, and his streak will continue at the weekend.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) recall, Cardinale was present at the Stadio Olimpico for Saturday’s comeback draw against Lazio. Before the match he watched the warm-ups from the sidelines, and he encouraged Diego Moreira on his way off.
It would be fair to say that the faith was repaid on the field, as the Belgian came on at half-time and scored two goals inside three minutes – both of them lovely strikes – to drag Milan back into the game almost out of nowhere.
The paper goes on to add that Cardinale will be back in Milan on Saturday, the day before the match at San Siro against Lecce. He will keep up his 100% attendance record for league games therefore, but it does not seem as though he will be there on Wednesday night against Benfica.
It is once again a sign that the RedBird Capital number one wants to be close to the squad and the management, having changed his style of ownership since the summer, becoming far more hands-on in decision making and active participation..
