Fiorentina receive final approval from Leeds United for Gnonto transfer
Reports in Italy confirm that Fiorentina have now received the final go-ahead from Leeds United to proceed with their signing of Wilfried Gnonto, despite the recent reports that the deal had hit a late standstill.
Gnonto deal back on for Fiorentina
Gnonto is expected to join Fiorentina on loan with an option to buy from Leeds on the final day of the Serie A summer transfer window, which closes at 19.00 BST.
The 13-time Italy international is in Tuscany, has already completed his medical with the Viola and has been spotted in the Fiorentina training kit, but there were reports on Tuesday evening that the deal was at risk of falling through.
That is because Leeds wanted to make sure that they had their own replacement for Gnonto lined up and ready to sign in the final few hours of the transfer window.
According to the latest updates from Sky Sport Italia expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Leeds have now given the final go-ahead for Fiorentina to formally complete their signing of Gnonto, who is expected to be officially announced in the coming horse.
