Fichajes: Juventus and Milan set to battle for Barcelona wing-back in January – the latest

It seems AC Milan could sign a left-back in the January mercato, after a request from Ruben Amorim and an openness from Barcelona.

Milan’s wing-back situation is certainly a little confusing. Samuel Chukwueze has perhaps been the best option on either side so far this season, but he’s far from a natural. Then, Diego Moreira – the big money investment – can’t find a space on his preferred side, so is seen as an option on the left.

Despite this, there are suggestions that another wing-back could arrive in the January mercato.

Amorim’s request for Balde

According to Fichajes, via Calciomercato.com this morning, both Juventus and the Rossoneri are aware of Balde’s situation and will pursue a move in January. The Spaniard is on the fringes of Hansi Flick’s squad and if he doesn’t find a way back in, he’s likely to depart.

After being proposed to Inter (and the Rossoneri) in the summer, they made a move for Djed Spence instead – but it showed Barca’s willingness to part ways.

With his deal up in the summer of 2028, the Catalan giants are aware of the situation which they find themselves in and hope to find a solution in either of the next two summer windows.

Amorim requested Gerry Cardinale to keep an eye on the situation ahead of a possible January swoop and the American has obliged, with the club monitoring him with interest to ‘determine the feasibility’ of a deal.
