The latest on Inter’s injury situation

As the international fixtures roll on, with Inter hoping no bad news comes back from pitches around the world, Inter are already building towards their first game after the break, when the Nerazzurri take on Parma.

More encouraging news is starting to come out of Appiano Gentile, especially over the injured players targeting that match: Calhanoglu, Stones and Dimarco.

Calhanoglu close to a full recovery

The Turkish midfielder had been sidelined before the Serie A game against Udinese and after the Champions League clash with Real Madrid because of an adductor problem in his right thigh. Today, the focal point of Cristian Chivu's midfield completed part of training with the rest of the group and is closing in on a return to the squad against Parma.

Stones pulls out

John Stones' return to action is still a long way off. The England centre-back is still training alone away from the group after the thigh muscle injury he suffered during the win against Udinese.

Dimarco works to be there

Federico Dimarco has had to pull out of Roberto Mancini's Italy squad because of the knee problem that is troubling him. The full-back again trained partly with the group today before working on his own, so as not to increase his workload, but there is still a chance he could be called up for Parma.
