Crespo Names Lautaro His Favourite as Inter’s Attack Impresses
Hernan Crespo has described Inter’s forward line as the most complete in Serie A, naming Lautaro Martinez as his personal favourite and saying Pio Esposito has the qualities to become a champion.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Inter striker discussed the club’s attacking options and said the players adapt well to the team’s style. Crespo said Lautaro is his favourite, not simply because they are both Argentine, and praised the forward’s superior quality.
Crespo also spoke highly of Marcus Thuram, whom he had watched develop as a boy during his time at Parma. He highlighted Thuram’s speed, dribbling and instinct inside the penalty area, while also praising Lautaro’s willingness to work for the group and his strike partner.
Crespo urges patience with Pio Esposito
On Pio Esposito, Crespo was encouraging but cautious. He said the young forward has the qualities to become a champion, but warned against placing too much pressure or too many expectations on him. Crespo praised Esposito’s ability with his feet, in the air and in acrobatic finishes, as well as his link-up play, while saying he wants to see greater consistency in his performances.
Finally, Crespo turned to Ange-Yoan Bonny, citing his physical attributes and technical quality in tight spaces. Those qualities, he said, are why he considers Inter’s attack the most complete in Serie A, with each of the four forwards capable of making a significant contribution through goals and decisive plays.
