CorSport: Milan want two crucial renewals done in coming weeks – the details
AC Milan are hoping to get two important renewals over the line before the end of the calendar year, according to a report.
While waiting to return to the market in January to fill some gaps, Milan are working on two renewals that are a priority for Gerry Cardinale and the management. Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) claim the club want to secure Adrien Rabiot and Christian Pulisic’s extensions.
Their contracts expire in 2028 and 2027 respectively, though there is a one-year club option for both. Both the midfielder and the forward are seen as two key elements of the new project and therefore their renewals are considered fundamental at Casa Milan.
Acceleration(s) expected
The paper recall Ruben Amorim’s comments about Rabiot a few weeks ago: “I didn’t know him before arriving here. He’s crucial to our project. I adore him completely and would like him to stay at Milan.
“If possible, I’d like to see his contract renewed. He knows it. He’s very professional, plays for the French national team, and helps the young players a lot in every training session. He’s a key player for us.”
These statements leave no doubt about the Portuguese coach’s thoughts, as he believes the Frenchman is absolutely central to his ideas. The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of next season, but the idea is to extend it to 2031, keeping his €5m net per year salary.
In recent days, Pulisic admitted that he’s enjoying his time at Milan and is therefore keen to renew his contract soon. Cardinale would like to also extend his deal to 2031, with a salary increase. Discussions with both Rabiot and Pulisic are expected in the coming weeks.
