CorSport: Milan in talks with Pavlovic over new contract – the expected salary

Strahinja Pavlovic was a pillar for Massimiliano Allegri and it seems he will be for Ruben Amorim in the long term. So, AC Milan are looking to tie down his future.

After a difficult start to life in Milan, Pavlovic quickly became one of the go-tos for Allegri and the Italian never looked back. A central defender who could score from 30 yards, dribble up the pitch and still do a shift at the back, he was a perfect fit for the back three.

With Amorim’s arrival, there were questions about his use, with him being a little too aggressive – a trait rarely seen in his defenders – but there needn’t have been. He’s found a role for the Serbian which allows him to attack again, though defensively he may need to settle slightly.

Pavlovic renewal getting closer

Talk of a renewal has been around for a while now, but it seems that the Rossoneri are keen to get things progressing alongside renewals for Adrien Rabiot and Christian Pulisic.

Corriere dello Sport, via MilanNews, reports that an extension on his deal, which runs until 2028 – with the option of an extra year – is in progress. A new deal would see him remain with the club until 2031 and his salary would be doubled to €3 million plus bonuses.

Pavlovic is happy with the Diavolo and loves Milano, with discussions still ongoing, but you’d imagine it wouldn’t be a difficult deal to finalise now.
