CorSport: Cardinale plotting big winter moves for Milan – new director and signings planned

AC Milan are expected to have a big season and more changes (and players) could arrive in the next few months.

Before the summer mercato closed, there was already a feeling that Milan would be active in the January mercato and this has only been confirmed in recent weeks. However, it may not just be a case of player trading.

According to Corriere dello Sport, via MilanPress, Gerry Cardinale is expected to overhaul the strategy again in the near future and appoint a sporting director (or Head of Football) – someone who will be close to the players and help with the mercato.

Markus Krösche is, again, a strong name and the idea is to make a hire before the January mercato to ensure that they make the most of the window. So, it could be another chance to test the management.

Speaking of the January mercato, the report continues with the profiles being sought. A central defender is already known as a target, but that is not all. Indeed, assessments are needed in midfield and on the wings.

It seems a few players could be bought, perhaps a left wing-back to aid Davide Bartesaghi and Pervis Estupinan. Then, some midfielders could be brought in for the double pivot and the attacking options.

There is a long time until then and new figures could be involved too; assessments will only continue to develop.
