CM: Torino renew wing-back’s contract but Milan and Roma remain interested
Alessio Cacciamani has renewed his contract with Torino, but it has not put off AC Milan and Roma in their pursuit.
As Calciomercato.com report, Torino have sent ‘a strong and clear signal to the big clubs’ in Serie A: signing Cacciamani will be anything but an easy task. The wing-back is seen as the jewel of the Granata squad, who welcomed him back after last season on loan at Juve Stabia.
To further protect themselves, Torino have secured the teenager with a long contract renewal, until 2031. They are aware that some top clubs in Italy are circling, above all Milan and Roma. The Rossoneri were linked in the summer, with Alphadjo Cisse mentioned as a possible loan counterpart.
“Torino Football Club is pleased to announce the renewal of the contract of footballer Alessio Cacciamani until June 30, 2031,” the statement reads.
Why might Milan go for a left wing-back, an area they are seemingly well covered in? The Rossoneri ended up signing Diego Moreira in the summer from Strasbourg, but he admitted the right is his preferred side.
Meanwhile, it has been suggested that Davide Bartesaghi might be used more as a left-sided centre-back, so a new wing-back for his flank could be considered. That is presumably why an RC Lens star is also reportedly on the radar in view of the winter mercato.
