CM: Milan expected to re-try Hojbjerg signing in January – why €10-15m could be enough

AC Milan are expected to be busy in the January mercato and some information about one player has been revealed.

It’s hardly been a secret that Milan were going to look to invest in January and yesterday, reports suggested that Gerry Cardinale could make a few signings across the pitch to help Ruben Amorim and his squad.

The Portuguese has a few areas of concern and a few profiles are missing. So, this would be a fantastic opportunity to support him and perhaps push the team on midway through the season.

Amorim seeking a stopper

According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri will focus on signing a stopper, someone who can ‘disrupt the opposition’s play and get the team moving again’. It’s a profile not found in the midfield department currently, so the addition of one is not unsurprising.

The name is not new either, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg the favoured option. Amorim likes the player heavily and recommended him in the summer, but a deal wasn’t possible. In January, though, it could be.

Around €10-15 million would be enough to seal a deal, so it’s one to watch with the Diavolo already looking. After all, Marseille still need to sell, with them going through a tough financial period, as the report states.
