Another source has claimed that AC Milan are keen on signing Leny Yoro from Manchester United, a defender Ruben Amorim knows well.

In the past few days, a report emerged from the Daily Briefing in England which claimed that Milan are monitoring the situation of Yoro, who has not been a guaranteed starter since Michael Carrick switched to playing a back four.

Mendes could help Milan get Yoro

Now, Calciomercato.com have confirmed the news. Gerry Cardinale still wants to give Amorim a defensive reinforcement, as shown by the fact that there was a late offer for Sporting CP’s Gonçalo Inacio that failed.

The feeling is that new attempts will be made to sign a central defender in January despite the presence of Koni De Winter, Matteo Gabbia, Strahinja Pavlovic and Mario Gila in the squad, and the last-minute reinstatement of Fikayo Tomori.

Yoro is another name in the stable of Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, who Milan dealt with a lot in the summer. He was acquired by Manchester United from Lille for €62m in 2024 and is favoured by Amorim, given that he has already worked with him at Old Trafford.

He is being valued at €50m, a very high figure but one that Cardinale has demonstrated he is willing to pay, with the purchases of Gonçalo Ramos from PSG for €75m and Diego Moreira from Strasbourg for €65m including bonuses.

Why would United sell? They believe the Frenchman hasn’t delivered as hoped. He’s made just two Premier League appearances, one in the Champions League and one in the Carabao Cup, remaining on the bench for the other three league games.

For this reason, his agent Mendes could push for a move in the next transfer window, and Milan are very attentive to the opportunity.
