CM: Cagliari star makes Italy debut – his price tag as Milan scout up close

The summer mercato is still in recent memory, but AC Milan are already assessing moves for next year’s mercato…

There are gaps in the Milan squad and the plan is to fix them at the first chance. It has been reported again that Goncalo Inacio is the big target, so it’s no surprise that others are also being looked at already.

A new Italian for Milan

This morning, Calciomercato.com have looked at the latest name of interest for the Rossoneri: Alessandro Romano. The midfielder was given his debut by Roberto Mancini against Belgium, the latest step in a promising career after he became a key player for Cagliari in the first games of the Serie A season.

Borin in 2006, he’s been a standout this season, already proving that the Rossoblu were right to take the chance on him this season. If they stay up, he’ll be bought for €4.9 million, which already seems like a potential bargain.

Valuations have already been made, too, with Juventus, Inter and the Diavolo all keeping tabs on him – as seen with the latter’s scouting of him last night. Cagliari would perhaps accept a deal around the €20m mark, there’s a lot of time for that price to change, though.

Considering the lack of Azzurri representation in the current Milan squad, adding a current international wouldn’t be seen as a negative, you’d assume.
