Cisse discusses learning at Milan, feeling ‘at home’ and representing Italy: “Give my all”

Alphadjo Cisse has been a revelation for AC Milan this season and he showed the same quality for the Azzurrini on Friday.

So far, it’d be tough to suggest that Cisse hasn’t been Milan’s best attacker this season. The youngster has two goals in his first Serie A season and with key players missing, he’s been the one to step up regularly.

His rise has been so drastic that Roberto Mancini had even considered including him in his first Italy squad after his return. However, he wasn’t called up in this set of games and instead stuck with the Under 21s.

This was clearly not a problem, though, as he scored a hat-trick in a 15-0 win against a young Empoli side. Talk about making a statement.

Cisse’s strong start

Speaking to the FIGC’s official channel after the win against Empoli’s Primavera, Cisse described the feeling after his goals and his season so far.

“Being with the Rossoneri is helping me grow, and I hope to pass on everything I’m learning to the Under-21 national team. The group here is special; I feel like I’m at home. We spend a lot of time together, we build bonds, and it shows on the pitch.

“I’m happy with how things are going, but I’m trying to put my emotions aside because it helps me focus better and give my all. I want to continue demonstrating my qualities. Wearing the Azzurri shirt is an honour.
